Mitsuru leans close to Shinobu. Their eyes lock.
In that husky, oh-so-seductive voice of his, Mitsuru murmurs:
"Shinobu. Yatto futari-kiri ni nareru to omotta no ni naa. . ."
(Shinobu. And here I thought the two of us were going to be alone at last. . .)
Your mouth goes dry. This is it.
Mitsuru leans closer to Shinobu. He tilts his head ever so slightly. Shinobu
stands his ground, cool grey eyes never leaving those of his roommate.
They're going to kiss. You just know it. No matter how many times you've
watched this scene -- no matter how many times you've been disappointed, you believe this time, it'll be different.
Without moving, Shinobu turns an appraising eye on Hasukawa. His lips part.
"Yameta hou ga ii zo. Hasukawa no shirome mieta."
(You'd better stop. Hasukawa's showing the whites of his eyes.)
The camera cuts to a horrified Hasukawa, who is plastered to the wall.
Cursing, you reach for the remote. Why is there no justice?! They were so
close!
Yes, this tragedy has been played out in countless living rooms all across this
great land of ours. Mine especially. Probably yours, too.
Well, take heart, fangirls! This is America! And in America, we're known
for apple pie, Mom and our can-do attitude. Especially when it comes to gratification.
