Episode 17: Meiko has a terrible home life. She copes by falling in love
with an older man. When word of their relationship gets out, he is disgraced
and decides to leave town in order to make a fresh start. Unwilling to be left
behind in her horrible situation, she follows him to the train station. . .

Episode 62: I wondered why this song was sung by Miki instead of Meiko
until I watched the series again. In the third season, Miki has such a difficult
time dealing with her long distance relationship that she becomes
emotionally exhausted. (And so do we!) Unable to go on this way, she tells
her boyfriend: "If you can't come back with me -- we're through" . . .

I never liked this song, because I associated ut with Meiko's rather unsavory
situation (Snap out of it, Meiko! What do you see in him anyway?!), but
when I heard it again during Miki's airport scene, and saw the look of utter
desolation on his face -- Kiyaaa!
