[Scene 8: Room 210. Miwa and Yuu are sitting at the table.]

Miwa: So you're just going to hide here like a *coward*? I oughta beat the crap
out of you! Well, I _couldn't_ since I love you like a brother. . . Except
accidentally, of course.

Yuu: Yeah. So how's _your_ love life going?

Miwa: Uh. I've given up on having a meaningful relationship with a sensitive,
intellectual girl. Now I just wanna make out.

Yuu: . . .

[Shun enters, wearing a lace nightie.]

Miwa: Yuu, you haven't introduced me to your roommate.

Yuu: Miwa Satoshi, Kisaragi Shun.

Miwa: [Thinking:] (Oooh. "Kisaragi", huh? I *would* like to kiss 'er. . .)

Shun: Hi! Can I call you Iw-chan?

Miki: [Sobbing] Why did Yuu leave me?

[She reaches for the robot-memo and pushes the "play" button.]

Robot Memo:[Yuu's voice] Miki, I love you, but based on purely circumstantial
evidence, I think we're siblings, so I'm leaving. You'll have to cope on your own.

Miki: He's so cryptic! Doushiyou? Yuu doesn't love me any more!

[The phone rings]

Miki: [Answers the phone] Hello?

Meiko: [On the other end] Miki. Get over it.

Miki: Meiko! You always know just what to say to cheer me up! Arigatou! I'll
just call Yuu right now! You're the best!

Meiko: Glad to help. [Hangs up]

Miki: [Dials Greenwood]

Dorm Lady: [On the other end] Hello?

Miki: Hello. Is Matsuura Yuu there?

Dorm Lady: You little hussy! Don't think you can put one over on me!

Miki: Um, well, I need to speak to Yuu because Yuu's father married my mother
and my father married his mother, and I want to marry Yuu, but Yuu's really
convinced that my father and his father are actually the same person, which would
make us siblings, and incest is bad, but I'm not convinced because my father was
in London at the time with my mother while his father was in Tokyo and his
mother was pregnant with him, but--

Dorm Lady: I'll put you through.

Miki: [Thinking:] (And here I thought she hated me! She's so nice!

Yuu: [On the other end] Hello?

Miki: Yuu!

Yuu: Miki!

Miki: Yuu! . . .We need to break up.

Yuu: What? No! Don't leave me! Heyyy. . . are you using that reverse
psychology thing on me?

Miki: Oops! My mistake! I meant: We need to confront our parents!

Yuu: Well, why didn't *I* think of that? D'oh! Okay, let's get back together!

Miki: Wai! [Heart symbols]

[Scene 10: The visiting room at Greenwood. Rumi, Jin, Chiyako, Youji, Yuu,
Miki, Miwa, Shun, Mitsuru, Shinobu, Mr. Ikeda, Mrs. Ikeda, Sho, Hasukawa and
all the other Greenwood residents are there.]

Yuu: Mother, Father, Father, Mother. We know your secret!

Rumi: Is this about the sex change operations?

Jin: [Turning to his wife] I thought *you* were going to tell them about that!

Chiyako: It slipped my mind!

Youji: Oh well! We don't start the hormone treatments for a few weeks anyway!

Miki: No! You're wrong! We know that Jin and Chiyako used to be lovers!
That makes me and Yuu half siblings!

Greenwood Residents: Who, _me_?!

Chiyako: [To Youji] I *told* you that was a dumb name, but would *you* listen?

Miki: [Points at Yuu] Him! He's my half brother! Right? Anyway, since it's all
your fault that we're crazy mixed-up kids in love, we want you to give us your
permission to get married and have mentally deficient children!

Mitsuru: And Shinobu thinks *his* sister is kinky.

Hasukawa: [Nosebleed]

Parents: Bwa ha ha ha!

Youji: He's not related to you!

Yuu: What? But -- Grandma's letter!

Chiyako: I guess I'll have to tell you everything . . . No, wait. That would take
too long. Okay. Short version: Jin *was* my lover and I *did* get pregnant by
him, but . . . I . . . lost the baby.

Miki and Yuu: Gasp!

Miki: A miscarriage! How sad!

Chiyako: No. I lost him. I set him down under a forsythia bush and when I went
back for him later, someone had taken him!

Ikedas: Gasp!

Shinobu: I'm sensing something ominous.

Mitsuru: [Sweatdrop] *You're* sensing something ominous!

Mr. Ikeda: [To Mrs. Ikeda] I *told* you we should have left him out there a few
more days!

Shun: Sempai! Does this mean your name is actually Matsuura Mitsuru?

Jin: No. It's Koishikawa Mitsuru.

Shun: 'Kay! [Heart symbols]

Yuu: Wait! Who the hell is *my* father?

Jin: We're still not sure, but we know it's not me.

Youji: Or me.

Yuu: Oh. Okay.

Chiyako: [Aside To Youji] Maybe if we ask that nice doctor from the fertility
clinic, *he* can tell us!

Youji: [Aside to Chiyako] No, that place was closed down by the police a few
years ago.

Miki: [Hugging Yuu] Yay! Our children will have normal brains!

Shinobu: So you say.
