When the final "i" in an adjective (for example: "yasashii" or "gentle") is
replaced by "ku", this changes the adjective into an adverb ("yasashiku" = "gently"). Similarly, when the "i" is replaced by "sa", the adjective becomes a noun. ("Yasashisa" = "gentleness"). |
