OAV 2: Nagisa Hyper-Rhapsody

The gang of four sit in room 210 reading files out loud to each other. The
first is a summary of Mitsuru's vital statistics and personal history. The
second is on Shun. Shun takes exception to the file saying that Reina is his
sister. "He's my brother! There's no excuse for sloppy research like that!"
They look at Shun's bed, where a child is sleeping.

A woman looks out of her apartment's glass door, which leads onto the
balcony. She remembers her past. A girl sneaks up behind a little boy,
intent on pushing him into a koi pond, but he trips her and she falls in,
instead. Furious, she grabs him, yelling: "Shinobu!" A shoji screen slides
open in the background, revealing a man in gi and hakama (from the neck
down). "Nagisa! That's no way for a girl to act! Don't pick on your
brother!" Nagisa's hair flies up frm the force of her father's scolding!
Tears form in her eyes. Shinobu picked on her first! The girl holds a
board game (in its box) over her head. "Shinobu! Apologize! If you do, I'll
give this back." The boy strolls by, unconcerned, saying she's welcome to
have it. Frustrated, she throws the game on the ground. Immediately, the
shoji flies open and her father yells: "Nagisa! Don't waste things! Why
can't you be more like Shinobu?" The girl's tearful face becomes that of
the beautiful woman in the apartment. She's lived all her life for her
vengeance on Shinobu! How she's suffered, having Mr. Perfect for a
brother! She remembers kidnapping Mitsuru (in manga volume 2!) and
stripping him to his underwear -- but then Shinobu arrived! A scary aura
surrounded him and his eyes glowed as he said: "If this happens again, I'll
show you no mercy!" Nagisa has had it with men! She can't stand it any
more!

Four nameless men in dark suits and sunglasses enter the apartment and
stamp their time cards before lining up. Nagisa calls roll: "A! B! C! D!"
All are present. Nagisa announces she has had it with pretty boys. From
now on, she's going after girls! Her henchmen applaud tearfully.

A cute child with pale lavender hair and pink eyes is walking down the
sidewalk, carrying a duffel bag. Nagisa stops the child, saying: "You're
cute. Would you like some pocket money?" Nagisa flashes some 10,000
yen notes (equivalent to hundred dollar bills) and the child holds up three
fingers -- to Nagisa's discomfort.

Hasukawa and Shun sit in their room. Hasukawa asks why Shun hasn't left
for summer break yet. Shun says his brother, Reina, is coming by himself
to visit and should be showing up soon.

In the apartment, Nagisa finds out the child is -- a boy! "I never said I was
a girl!" "What's your name?" Nagisa demands. "Kisaragi Reina." Nagisa
whips out some manila files and reads one (yes, the same one as in the first
scene!). It says "Reina" is a girl! But, wait! An idea has occurred to her.
Kisaragi Shun is Shinobu's neighbor! The pawn for Nagisa's revenge has
just fallen into her hands! Nagisa's strong grasp is painful. Reina yells:
"Ow! I'm going through puberty, you know! Treat me nice or I'll become a
juvenile delinquent!" ^_^ Nagisa scares Reina, who begins to cry.

Nagisa brings Reina into the next room, where her henchmen are waiting.
"Watch the kid -- and be nice," she says. "A, come with me." Nagisa's
henchmen look at Reina's teary face. Nagisa-ojousama must have done
something truly terrible to make the kid cry!

Out on the balcony, Nagisa scans Greenwood through binoculars.

Reina exclaims that he wants some cheese bread. Having been ordered to
be nice, B, C and D decide that C will go out to get some cheese bread.
He'll save the receipt so Nagisa-ojousama can reimburse him later. ^_^;;

Nagisa opens a closet full of weapons. (Sai, swords, guns, mallets, axes,
shuriken. . .) The flames of vengeance fill her! She chooses a rifle.

Shun invites Hasukawa out to buy some snacks.

As Nagisa sights through the high-powered scope of the rifle into her
brother's room at Greenwood, A calls Mitsuru on the phone (to draw him
out of the room). A pretends to be a high school girl named "Nasu Yukie"
(^_^) who has a crush on Mitsuru. Meanwhile, Nagisa shoots a dart into
the desk next to Shinobu's hand. Calmly, he picks it up and unrolls the
message it contains. It tells him to leave immediately through the window.
"I'm holding a hostage." Shinobu wonders who the hostage could be, but
retrieves some shoes out of his drawer and climbs out the window. Once
he drops to the ground outside the wall, another dart embeds itself into the
bricks by his head. Shinobu sees the flash of reflected sunlight from the
scope coming from the apartment complex nearby. The new message
instructs him to go to a tobacco store nearby.

Reina is sitting with B and D. He demands an Ajimi dou lemon pie. B
leaves to find one.

Meanwhile, C is in a convenience store searching for cheese bread.

Shinobu arrives at the tobacco store and the phone next to it rings. He
picks up the receiver. It's Nagisa. She tells him she can see every move
he makes, so he'd better do what she says! He replies that he wants
nothing to do with her and that he intends to return to his room for a nap.
What?! She can't believe it! Isn't he worried about the hostage? Shinobu
calmly remarks that the hostage probably won't mind being attacked by a
beautiful woman like her. (Meanwhile, behind Nagisa, A is still talking to
Mitsuru on the phone.) Nagisa tries to get Shinobu interested in the
identity of her captive, but he refuses to be baited, saying: "If you want to
tell me, you'll tell me." Nagisa reveals that she has Reina in her clutches.
She demands that Shinobu run a quarter mile to Flower-Dream park. (A
weary Mitsuru ends his conversation with A.) Shinobu hangs up and dials
Greenwood. When Mitsuru answers, he says only: "Go to the ninth floor
of the Flower residences," and hangs up. Shinobu starts running. Nagisa
watches him through the sight on her rifle, gloating, but he disappears
behind a house -- and doesn't reappear on the other side!

D opens the door and motions for A to come over. D is on his way to get
something called a "tiramisu" and needs A to watch the kid, as B and C are
already out shopping.

Mitsuru returns to his room, wondering where Shinobu could have called
him from. Wasn't Shinobu just in their room? He sees Shinobu's
abandoned slippers next to the open window. He figures he may as well
check out the Flower residences.

Meanwhile, B orders a lemon pie.

Shun and Hasukawa are in the convenience store buying snacks. They see
C (who has bought the cheese bread) thumbing through some magazines
and recognize him as one of Nagisa's goons! Shun is instantly suspicious.

Behind the house which hides him from Nagisa, Shinobu calmly smokes a
cigarette.

Reina complains the room is too hot and demands to take a shower.

Shun and Hasukawa follow C and catch sight of a frustrated Nagisa, who
still can't locate Shinobu. With all the trouble Nagisa has caused them in
the past, Shun decides they should get her first, this time!

Mitsuru rounds a corner and comes face to face with B. You again!?
They fight. Mitsuru knocks B down and hits him in the face with the lemon
pie. Finally understanding that Nagisa is involved, Mitsuru takes off
toward the Flower Residences at a run. B bemoans the loss of his pie.

Enraged because she can't find Shinobu, Nagisa starts firing exploding
darts. Confetti with the words: "Shinobu" and "Die" on them fall around
her brother. He has been serenely drinking coffee (the kind that comes in a
tin can), but, when he sees the confetti, his eyes narrow and he crushes the
can in one hand. (!) It looks like he's waited long enough.

D asks a video store owner if "tiramisu" is a video game.

Ready for his shower, Reina tells A not to peek at him and shuts the
bathroom door. A peeks a bit and blushes, not realizing Reina is a boy.

Nagisa sees Shinobu (finally!) walking in the park. She calls the pay
phone near him.

C enters the Flower Residences and gets into the elevator. Shun and
Hasukawa, who have been trailing him, see Nagisa's name on the mailbox
for apartment 909 and start running up the stairs.

Mitsuru enters the building and gets into the second elevator.

Hasukawa, who is faster than Shun, arrives on the ninth floor as the first
elevator's doors open. C and Hasukawa confront each other.

In the park, Shinobu answers the phone. Nagisa yells at him, then orders
him to come to the Flower Residences, apartment 909. But first. . .

Hasukawa swings C around by the arm. C stumbles into the opening doors
of the second elevator, and Mitsuru clobbers him with a karate chop to the
back of the neck. You guys are here too?

Nagisa demands that Shinobu prostrate himself and beg for Reina's safety.
She brings out a camera with a huge telephoto lens to capture this exquisite
moment. Shinobu gets down on his knees, then assumes a meditative pose.

Nagisa shakes with rage! How dare he make a fool of her!!!

Mitsuru, Hasukawa and Shun enter apartment 909, where they run into A.
Reina emerges from the bathroom, clad in a towel, and runs to Shun. A
tries to catch him and winds up with the towel. The kid's a boy?! Shun
scolds Reina for going places with strangers.

The telephone in the park rings. Shinobu answers it. Nagisa shrieks at
Shinobu! He calmly tells her to take a good look at her situation. Huh?
Abandoning the phone, Nagisa wanders into the other room and sees that A
has been captured by Mitsuru. B, C and D are nowhere to be seen. Oh no!
Shinobu's coming! He'll show no mercy! Nagisa backs out of the
apartment with her rifle under one arm and her files under the other. She
pushes the elevator button frantically. The elevator doors open, and
Shinobu steps out, pointing a pistol at Nagisa's chest. She backs away,
terrified. "This gun isn't a well-made replica like yours," Shinobu says
before pulling the trigger. A plastic bead shoots out and bounces off
Nagisa's chest. Shinobu smiles: "It's just a cheap toy." Nagisa collapses.

The gang of four and Reina stand in the elevator. Why didn't Shinobu just
go rescue Reina himself, Shun asks. Mitsuru scoffs: "Shinobu would never
get his own hands dirty." "You owe me," Mitsuru tells his roommate. "I
owe you for now," Shinobu replies.

Reina tells Shun he's going to buy Shun a new blouse, because Reina has a
whole lot of pocket money now! (30,000 yen!)

D enters apartment 909 with his "tiramisu" (which is not a video game,
but a dessert ^_^;). A, B and C have returned and are packing to move,
because Nagisa-ojousama can't possibly stay in such a dangerous place!
Who knows when Shinobu will come back to pick on her?!

Back in room 210, Hasukawa reads Shinobu's file. (Note: It's up at MAS
Project for World Domination if you want to know what it says. I'm too
tired to type it out. . .) Mitsuru pretends to read Hasukawa's file (actually
a blank piece of paper) much to Kazuya's discomfort!
