Greenwood OAV Synopses
Koko wa Greenwood was made into six 30 minute OAVs which have
been translated by Software Sculptors and are available on three VHS
tapes in either subtitled or dubbed format. (I personally recommend the
subbed version, as I *love* the Japanese seiyuus' voices.) There are
currently no DVDs available. Keep your fingers crossed!

Short, relatively spoiler-free teasers are available on this page. More
in-depth (and therefore spoiler-laden) synopses are available by clicking
on the OAV numbers below. Proceed at your own risk! (Gack! After
spending all day doing two in-depth synopses, I can see why no one else
wants to do them! It's really hard! Plus, it's difficult to effectively bring
out the humor of the show with bland descriptions. Trust me, the real
thing is way better than these descriptions sound!)

Scripts for OAVs 3-6 are available at the Here is Greenwood Home Page.
(There's a link at the bottom of this page.) They are pretty close to the
commercial OAV scripts. Check them out!

Tape 1 (Subbed Version SSVS-9610)
Hasukawa Kazuya is a 15 year old with a problem. He's in love with his
brother's wife! Unable to live in the same house as the newlyweds,
Kazuya moves to a boarding school -- the prestigious Ryokuto Academy.
Once there, he is rudely introduced to dorm life by his sempai (and next
door neighbors!) Mitsuru and Shinobu. To make things more complicated,
Kazuya's roommate, Shun, appears to be a girl! The final test comes when
Kazuya must decide whether or not to go home for winter break.

Shinobu's twisted sister, Nagisa, and her henchmen have kidnapped a
child in an effort to get revenge on Shinobu for past offenses. The gang of
four must combine forces to defeat her. Shinobu is not pleased with his
sister, as she had previously kidnapped Mitsuru and stripped him to his
underwear. o_O; Sibling rivalry was never so inconvenient.

Tape 2 (Subbed Version SSVS-9611)
OAV 3: The Making of Here is Devilwood
It's time for the annual school festival and Shinobu informs everyone that
Greenwood will be making a movie. Written and directed by Tochizawa,
with computer effects by Aoki, and starring Mitsuru, Shinobu and Kazuya,
this project could bring in enough money to throw an enormous party!
Mitsuru stars as Lemon Herb, a wandering swordsman. Shinobu plays his
erstwhile best-friend-turned-enemy, the Devil Lord Cloretts (formerly
known as Cool Mint ^_^;). Kazuya, as always, has to play the flunky, but
Tochizawa promises that this time, Kazuya's character will win the girl!
Maybe Hasukawa's bad luck with women is about to change!. . . Or not.

OAV 4: The Phantom of Greenwood
Misako, a sixteen year old ghost-girl, decides to haunt Mitsuru. It's
common knowlege that only unresolved loves and regrets cause hauntings,
but Mitsuru vehemently denies even knowing the girl. Be that as it may,
Misako is determined to stay until Mitsuru agrees to kiss her. To make
matters worse, Misako will have to possess Shinobu's body in order to
perform the deed, as her own form is insubstantial. . .

Tape 3 (Subbed Version SSVS-9612)
OAV 5: Second Love. . . Always Be With You (act 1)
Mitsuru's former kouhai, Igarashi Miya, shows up at the dorm, on the run
from a bunch of girl gang members. Though she presents a tough exterior,
Miya is in trouble, and she knows it. When Igarashi gets called out,
Kazuya and the others have to work fast to help her. Mitsuru also catches
a nasty cold, and Shinobu's psychotic sister makes another appearance.

OAV 6: Second Love. . . Always Be With You (act 2)
Kazuya can't get Igarashi Miya out of his mind. Is it love? What are his
chances with "the punk girl" when she's had a steady boyfriend for the past
ten years?! Needing a break, Kazuya visits Mitsuru's home and finds out
why his sempai chose to live in the dorms. With encouragement from
everyone (including his sister-in-law!), Kazuya decides to confess his
feelings for Igarashi. But first, he has to find her!
