[Act 4]

Narr: In their search for the boy Chupi's lover, the hero and his comrades descended the mountains and
arrived in a tiny village.

Tino: EH?! But you never said anything about going to a dangerous place like that!

Herb: You don't want to go, Tino?

Chelsea: [To Tino] If that's the case, come back and be my husband.

Tino: I'm not saying that I don't want to go. Of course not.

Herb: Cheer up, Chupi. Your boyfriend is surely safe.

Chelsea: That's right! Don't worry about what those bandits said.

Cool: [Appearing on Herb's shoulder] However, I've heard of this Ruby King.

Cool FX: PON

Cool: This is only a legend, but. . .

Cool: That stone is a gigantic ruby that was unearthed by the dwarfs in ancient times from the deepest
recesses of the earth. It was a king among gemstones because of its unmatched size and brilliance. When it
passed into human hands, many people were enchanted by the stone and desired to make it their own. In the
struggle for possession much blood was spilled.

Cool: The ruby drank of the blood and over time became even more brilliant. It surpassed the world of men
and rose to the realm of the spirit world. A demon appeared and absconded with the jewel.

Cool: Since then, no one has seen the King of Rubies. But even now, somewhere in the world a demon is
guarding it, it's said.

Chelsea: In the cavern of jewels?

Cool: [Disappearing] Perhaps.

Herb: Anyway, we have to find that cave.

Arrow pointing to a bottle hanging from Herb's belt: Cool's sleeping place. Since he doesn't want to deal with
walking, he shrinks and sleeps inside. Side note: he comes out when he sneezes.

Chupi: (Lyonesse, if you're safe, I don't need jewels.)

Chupi: (Please, come back to me. . .)

[Chupi is surrounded by pretty spangles.]

Chupi FX: Meaningless love aura

Herb: Chupi, please don't manipulate the world that way.

Herb: Anyway, let's stay at an inn tonight.

Voices: Oh, sirs!

Girl 1: All the guys going to the cavern of jewels bought one of these maps. They're very reliable.

Girl 2: And not a single person who's bought one has come back complaining! Ha ha!

Narr: The five left the inn early the next morning in search of the cave on the map.

Narr: For three days they walked, descending into deep valleys and crossing tiny creeks.

Narr: Finally, they found the cave they were looking for.

Herb: Let's go.

[Act 5]

Wind FX: HYOOOO~

Cool: [Now human sized] It appears to be a natural cavern.

Chelsea: It's cold.

Herb: Are you all right, Chupi?

Chupi: Yes.

Herb: Tino, are you marking our path properly?

Tino: [Drawing faces on the rock with a magic marker – hey, it's even labeled "Magic!"] Yes, yes.

[Tino sees many glowing eyes in the darkness.]

Tino: !

[A swarm of bats comes flying out at Tino.]

Bats flying FX: Basa basa basa

Tino: WAH!

Herb: Don't freak out! They're just bats!

Herb: Bats live in caves, you know! It's common knowledge!

Tino: But--!

Chelsea: WAH!

Herb: It's just a poisonous snake!

Chupi: Kyaaa!

Herb: It's just a poisonous spider!

Tino: EEEK!

Herb: It's just a poisonous oompa loompa!

Nasu Yukie: Oh, is *that* what it is? [Sweatdrop]

Tino, Chupi, Chelsea: Wagyaaa!

Herb: It's just a skeleton!

All: . . . skeleton?

Chupi: It can't be!

Cool: No. These bones are old. This isn't the skeleton of someone who died a year ago.

Chelsea: Look! His bag is filled with jewels!

Chelsea and Chupi: [Going through the loot] Wow! Amazing!

Herb: [Examining the body] He's been cut. He got caught, huh?

Tino: By the demon?

Herb: Maybe. We'd better be careful.

Herb: The path divides.

Herb: There are gems scattered on the ground. That corpse we saw dropped them. If we follow their trail, it'll
lead us back to the main treasure.

[As the comrades follow the fallen gems back to the source, they come across more skeletons.]

Cool: Taishita kazu da.

Herb: The guy we just saw was the fastest one, huh?

Cool: We'd better break his record.

[Chelsea sees something.]

Herb: What is it?

Chelsea: Over there! There's something bright. . .

[They're overlooking a cavern whose floor is completely covered in gemstones.]

Walking on gems FX: Zagu zagu

Chelsea: A sea of jewels!

Herb: There's enough here to buy the whole world!

Chelsea: Is this a bandit's secret treasure trove?

[Something catches Tino'e eye.]

Tino: (What's that? In that cave there's something . . .)

[Tino goes to look.]

Walking FX: Zaku zaku zaku

Tino: It's . . . a throne?

[Something sitting on the throne opens its eyes.]

Tino: It's here!

Masked man: It is forbidden to disturb the sleep of the King.

Herb: Tino, get back!

Masked man: Leave!

[Chupi darts forward.]

Herb: Chupi!

Chupi: [To the masked man] Lyonesse! Where's Lyonesse?!

(*)

[The masked man raises his sword.]

Herb: Chupi! Run!

[Herb blocks the blow as Chupi cowers behind him.]

[Cool blasts the masked man with a fireball, but the masked man shields his face with his sleeve and the flames
dissipate harmlessly.]

Cool: !

Herb: [Charging gleefully] Cool! Take care of the other three!

(*)

[The masked man blocks Herb's attack and counterattacks.]

Herb: (He's powerful.)

Herb: [Running deeper into the caves] This way!

[The masked man follows Herb, leaving the others alone.]

Cool: [Looking in the direction Herb went] Tino. Take the other two outside.

Tino: What about you?

(*)

Cool: I probably shouldn't leave those two alone.

Tino: I'll go, too!

Tino: [As they go deeper into the caves] Where did they go?

Tino: I hope we don't get lost.

Tino: [Calling] Herb-san!

Cool: Tino. Look over there.

Tino: HERB-SAN!

[Herb is on his back on the edge of a precipice with the masked man bearing down on him.]

Tino: Cool! Hurry and use your magic!

Cool: The angle is bad. His cape and mask have the power to reflect magic.

Cool: He must have a weak spot. It would be best to target living flesh.

Cool: [Thinking of something] . . . wait . . .

Cool: HERB!

Herb: Yeah?

Cool: WHAT CAN YOU MAKE WITH TOFU?

Herb: [Discombobulated] (Tofu?)

[Cool scratches some symbols in the air with his index finger and mutters some words.]

[Herb belches fire into the masked man's face. The masked man recoils.]

Tino: [Sweatdrop] What was that about tofu just now?

Cool: When manipulating people's bodies, it's best when the mind of the person being manipulated is a complete
blank. [^ ^;;]

Cool: [Making a victory sign] Success.

Masked man: [Clutching his face] Uuuu...

Herb: [Looking at the pendant the masked man is wearing] (Is that the King of Rubies?)

Herb: That's it, isn't it?

[Herb rips the pendant off using his sword. The pendant flies off into the darkness.]

Chelsea: Was that the King of Rubies?

[Arrow pointing to Chelsea and Chupi: they became worried and followed.]

[The masked man totters at the edge of the precipice.]

Tottering FX: Yoro yoro

[The mask breaks and falls off, revealing –]

Chupi: LYONESSE!

Tino: What did you say?!

[Lyonesse falls from the precipice as Herb tries to grab him.]

Herb: !

[Cool levitates an unconscious Lyonesse gently back to Herb. My, what long fingernails Cool has!]

Levitation FX: Fuun

[Chupi runs to his fiancé.]

Chupi: Lyonesse! Lyonesse!

Lyonesse: [Sitting up] Chupi? Where am I . . . ?

Chupi: Lyonesse!

Chelsea: It would be better to get out of here quickly. Can you walk?

Herb: [To Cool] What about the stone?

Cool: It sank.

Cool: No will disturb it there and it can sleep. This is the king's final resting place.

[Later, outside the cave]

Lyonesse: Thank you so much.

Lyonesse: Thanks to you I was able to wake up from this terrifying dream.

Lyonesse: A year ago I found this cave and made my way to the hall of jewels.

Lyonesse: I forgot my exhaustion and stuffed my bag full of gems. Then, when I was going to leave, I saw that
stone in the depths of one of the side caves. I could see it was out of the ordinary, but I wanted to give it to
Chupi. Suddenly there came a mysterious voice.

Mysterious Voice: Who disturbs my sleep?

Lyonesse: I became frightened and started running, but my legs became heavy and everything before my eyes
became black. . .

Lyonesse: After that, I don't remember what happened. More than a year passed.

Lyonesse: It was just an unnecessary desire. . . but. . .

Lyonesse: I wanted to take the best stone I could home to Chupi.

Chupi: Thank you, Lyonesse.

Chupi: As far as I'm concerned, having you safe and by my side like this makes me happier than any jewel.

Lyonesse: Chupi!

Narr: Chupi and Lyonesse returned safely to their village and lived happily ever after.

Herb: So, the stone itself manipulated nearby humans to protect its resting place.

Herb: There wasn't a guarding demon after all.

Herb: Well, all's well that ends well. From here on we don't have to worry about money. Shall we go, Cool?

Cool: [Appearing on Herb's shoulder] There's still a problem, isn't there?

Herb: Huh?

Herb: [Looking at Tino and Chelsea] Ah.
