Shinobu: Tooku de kudakeruShiosai mitai ni
In the distance, (thunder) breaks like the roar of the sea
Amaoto kikutabiKonna fushigi na kimochi
When I hear the sound of rain (I have) this mysterious feeling

Shinobu: Itsumo hashaidetaKimi ga kakete kuru
Always high spiritedYou come running (towards me)
Kono mama toki ga tomareba. . .Sotto negau yo
If only time would stop like this. . .I secretly wish

Together: Meguriau kiseki ga arebaMou ichido ka'nau no kamo
If we meet by some miracleOnce again it might come true
Shibaraku waKono mama koko de
For a whileHere like this
Shinobu: Ooki na ki no shita deAmayadori
Underneath the big treeShelter from the rain

Mitsuru: Sora wo nagametetaKumo ga waratteta
We gazed at the skyThe clouds laughed
Ryoute ni koboreruAshita wo furimuki nagara
(Filling) both hands to overflowingWhile we looked back at tomorrow

Shinobu: Toki wa nagaredasuZawameki tokashite
(Frozen) Time melted and resumed its flow
Tooku e mukau BASU no nakaBoku wa hitoriMe wo tojita
On a bus bound for somewhere far awayI, aloneclosed my eyes

Together: Dare kashiraMado no mukou de
Who (do I hear) I wonder? From the other side of the window
Ukabeta waraigoe ga
A laughing voice floats
Ano basho ni subete aru no sa
In that place where everything seems to be
Onaji yume wo mita, neAmayadori
We saw the same dream, didn't we? Shelter from the rain

Together: Meguriau kiseki yoItsumo
A miraculous chance meetingAlways
Te no hira no naka ni are
Is in the palm of one's hand
Maboroshi gaIma mo warau yo
The phantom laughs even now
Shinobu: Ooki na ki no yureruAno basho ni
The swaying of the big treeIn that place
Notes: This song has a Simon and Garfunkel kind of feel.

In the fifth verse, it's possible Mitsuru was the one on the bus rather than Shinobu.
Either way, Shinobu was alone. ;_;

"Amayadori" is also the title of the manga episode in volume 5 which tells the
story of Mitsuru and Shinobu's first meeting. Shinobu runs for Student Council
President in his first year and falls in with the wrong crowd. Fortunately, Mitsuru
(literally!) beats some sense into him, and the rest is history. ^_^
